Connecting to the Building Wifi (iOS 14+)

Most mobile devices use the LifeSciGadget or ChemBiochemGadget networks to connect to departmental networks. These networks only require an ADS account to login.

However, if you need to access fileshares or other protected sites on your phone, follow these instructions to get your iOS device connected to a building network.

1. Open the Settings app, then tap Wi-Fi.
2. Find the LifeSci or Chem Building network (e.g. LifeSciBio2, ChemBiochemSecure) and click the blue information button next to it.
3. Tap to turn Private Address off.
4. Go to Settings > General > About, and find the Wi-Fi Address listed. Submit a ticket on helpdesk or email help@lscg.ucsb.edu with the Wi-Fi address and the building network you want to connect to.
